Asotin County Fair, April 28, 1979

Early this past summer, it occurred to me that there may be a cache of photographs of the Asotin County Fair taken on the day of Christina White's disappearance. And if there were such a cache of photographs, then the Asotin County Extension Office would be the first place to check. So I emailed them. Turns out, they did. They had an album for that year and photographs taken on the day Christina White vanished.

So, I drove down to Asotin on a bright Monday morning. As it happens, the Extension office is located in the basement under the Asotin County Sheriff's Office.

The County Director's administrative assistant wheeled out a cart of photo albums and I splayed open the large album featuring "1979" written down its spine.

My hope--long shot that it may be--was that I might find a glimpse of Christina, Rose, Clint, Betty, or, especially Lance in the photographs. Because these photos were literally taken during the hours of her abduction. Recall that the newspapers described Christina as wearing a tan and pink striped shirt, blue jeans, and red sneakers. She also had a white ten speed.

There, in the basement County Extension Office, I flipped through the pages, trying to find anyone who stood out. I didn't have much luck. But I captured the images on my phone and have uploaded them to the site, under Resources, Case Photos. So, please take a look. If you find something or someone that stands out, contact us or leave a comment down below.
